Laura Elkin

Laura Elkin is an Attorney at the Law Office of Philip C. Hoffman, where she represents individuals and families harmed by asbestos and other toxic exposures. She works closely with clients to build compelling, fact-driven cases against manufacturers and corporations whose unsafe products or working conditions caused harm.

Laura earned her J.D. cum laude from Tulane University Law School, with a certificate in Civil Law. While at Tulane, she gained hands-on litigation experience as a student attorney in the Juvenile Law Clinic, representing incarcerated youth in cases involving educational and mental health advocacy. That experience solidified her commitment to client-centered representation and helped shape her thoughtful, strategic approach to litigation.

Before law school, Laura graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Psychology, concentrating in special education. She worked directly with children with disabilities and volunteered in under-resourced Title I schools, deepening her understanding of how systems often fail the most vulnerable. That early work continues to inform her compassionate and grounded approach to clients navigating life-altering diagnoses.

Outside the courtroom, Laura enjoys painting, traveling, cheering on the Saints, and proudly counts “daytime television game show winner” among her accomplishments.
